Abstract

Derived from research on the development of oral communication of English learners of the high school level in the classroom. This article aims to elucidate the learning strategies that English learners implement for the development of their communication oral of this language. The qualitative methodological perspective of this work was based on the first interpretative exploratory paradigm, proposed by Nunan (1992), who states that research is a systematic process of inquiry that consists of a question, problem or hypothesis, information, analysis and interpretation of information. The results of this study revealed the strategies that learners claim to possess, nevertheless these are not manifested in the act of engaging in oral communication in English, and also revealed the lack of effective strategies of learners to strengthen their oral communication in addition to the urgency of promoting in students more and effective strategies that contribute to their oral communication and in that sense rethink our teaching practice.
