Influence of education policy and school expectations on teaching practice

Abstract

This text deals with the multiple demands that educational policies have for the subjects that are part of the teaching practice, since they project it as a “perfect” being, which implies getting rid of a personal history, emotions and feelings to turn it into an executor, in turn, what managers, teachers, parents and students expect their work; its intention is to promote a reflection on the influence of expectations on teaching practice. What is exposed is the product of a documentary investigation, of the observations as a teacher in front of a group and, in recent dates, as a school director of a state primary school located in a rural context. The reader will find feasible ideas to analyze and the teacher a possibility to examine his practice, understand his way of acting to influence him, with a view to continuous improvement. Without giving finished answers, it is committed to the training of a professional who can configure his practice, reflect on it and question it, in such a way that it is destroyed and reconstructed at the level of critical thinking.
