Research articles

D´Perspectivas accepts original articles in Spanish and English.

Manuscripts must be sent through the OJS manager of the Magazine, in which you must first register . or, log in.

The required length is three thousand five hundred words to seven thousand (including charts, tables, annexes and list of references), with Times New Roman font at 12 points, line spacing 1.5, justified complete and separation of titles and subtitles with Arabic numerals bold. It must also contain the following sections:

  • Title
  • The title must be brief, clear and attractive, in the original language of the author and its translation into English (in case the language of the author is English, the translation will be made into Spanish).

  • Author’s information
  • Since the articles undergo blind peer review, it is requested to send them without any data of the author; once it's counted with the approving votes, the Magazine will be put in communication with the author or authors to request their degree, affiliation and email electronic. The file must be anonymized in properties of file so that the identification of the author does not appear.

  • Summary
  • The extension of the summary must be in a range of 180 and 250 words. Briefly describe objectives, methodology, results of the article and main contribution to the topic in question. As well as the title, the abstract must be presented with its respective translation (into English if it is a text in Spanish, and vice versa).

  • Keywords
  • A minimum of three and a maximum of five words are required. manage to project the theme of the manuscript.

  • Introduction
  • This section includes objectives, justification and framework theoretical-conceptual of the text. In qualitative studies, specify the methodological perspective selected and in studies quantitative data, it is essential to describe the methodological procedure (population/sample, variables, instruments, data analysis).

  • Development
  • The study must include the theoretical dissertation, the analysis of its research, the discussion that revolves around the topic and its conclusions:

      Methodology

      The author must provide sufficient information about the methodology proposed for the development of his research. In If so, he can describe the sample and the strategies sampling, as well as the type of analysis used for the study.

      The methodologies used must expose the quantitative and qualitative, as the case may be, taking into consideration that its development must respond to the needs of the stated objectives.

      Theoretical dissertation

      In the text must be found the foundation that supports the results of the study presented, the context that frames it and its essential referents.

      Analysis and results

      The article will present, in a logical sequence and without value judgments, analysis and the most relevant results of the investigation. To expose the results in figures, images, graphs or tables, it is essential that these be own elaboration.

      Discussion

      This section presents what derives from the analysis of the results and purposes of the study, highlights the new or relevant aspects of the study, as well as the explanation of the findings.

      This section also contemplates the discussion with other authors, positions, studies or lines of research.

  • Conclusions
  • The statements shown here must be fully supported by the arguments included in the previous sections. For qualitative studies it is important to establish the relevant theoretical connections.

  • Tables and figures
  • The graphics included must contain clear and precise information without requiring explanation within the text, in this only reference should be made to the corresponding table or figure. The Images must be of quality and graphics without images. Of presenting data in figures, images, graphs or tables, is It is essential that these are of their own authorship.

  • References
  • The author must include current and sufficient references to support his work.

    It is asked that the references, so as the quotes within the body, are adjusted to the APA 7.a norms in its seventh edition. The final list must be alphabetically ordered and it can’t incorporate those that are not quoted within the article. In relation to the number of quotes, it will depend on the nature of the work, nevertheless, its number must be enough and necessary to contextualize the theoretical framework, the used methodology and the investigation results in a space of international investigation, appealing to recent sources and preferably of open access (with exception of classic literature or work that, even though it’s not recent, it is current because of its contributions).

Essays

D´Perspectivas accepts original articles in Spanish and English.

The required extension is from three thousand and five hundred words to seven thousand (including frames, tables, annexes and references lists), with Times New Roman font at 12 points, line spacing 1.5, complete justified and titles and subtitles separation with arabic bold numbers. It also must contain the following sections:

  • Title
  • The title must be brief, clear and appealing, in the original language of the author and its translation to English (In case that the language of the author is English, the translation would be done to Spanish).

  • Author’s information
  • Due to the evaluations that the essays are submitted to by the blind pairs, it is asked to be sent without any data of the author; once the approving votes are given, the magazine will be in contact to request the grade, assignment and e-mail.

  • Summary
  • The summary extension must be found in a range between 180 and 250 words. It must briefly describe objectives, theoretical referents and essay conclusions, with its respective translation (to English if its a Spanish text and vice versa).

  • Key words
  • It is asked for a minimum of three and a maximum of five words that achieve to Project the manuscript thematic.

  • Introduction
  • This section includes objectives and justification of the work with theoretical-conceptual fundamentals.

  • Analysis
  • In the writing will be shown, with a logical sequence and without value judgments, the theoretical referents analysis and the investigation antecedents about the theme itself. This must revolve around the central thesis essay.

  • Discussion and conclusions
  • In this section the new or relevant aspects of the essay are highlighted and its concluded with arguments that sustain the raised thesis in it. The affirmations must be fully backed by theoretical referents.

  • Tables and figures
  • This is optional. The included graphics must contain clear and precise information without the requirement of explanation within the text. In this it can only be found the reference to the given information in the corresponding frames and figures. The images must be of quality and the graphics without images. In case of exposing the results in figures, images, graphics or tables, it is indispensable to be of own authorship.

  • References
  • The quotes in the text must comply with the APA norms (In the page of the magazine can be found a brief manual which contains the basic information about the APA quotation system).

    The references must be ordered alphabetically also in APA format and mustn’t be enlisted the ones that aren’t quoted in the body of the essay.

Reviews

A review must summarize the virtues and defects of the work with the purpose of making clear to the reader if it’s worth to reed it or not. This kind of document consists in a valorative comment, so, everything that is not relevant or isn’t contributing valuable information about the work or for the user can be skipped. That way, the review must always end with a brief conclusion, capable of relating the personal opinion from the writer and the purposes of the work.

The analysis of the work must read on the following elements:

  • The author
  • Background, style, vision and similar references.

  • Work organization
  • Is it divided in chapters? Does it count with exercises and examples? Does it come enriched with photographs, schemes or maps?

  • Work style
  • What is the most remarkable of the book? What makes it different from other similar ones? What is its main usage? What target is directed to?

  • Content
  • What topics are covered in the book? From what point of view are the topics of the book exposed? What are the values contributed to the reader?

  • Purpose
  • The extension of the review must range between two thousand and three thousand words (including bibliography).

Revision article

In such, the authors expose an updated theoretical investigation with the objective to group, contrast, and propose new scientific hypothesis, from the domain and comprehensive managing of the current scientific literature about a problem in question. The author must do a critical exam of the knowledge condition reported in the literature. The writing must identify new ways to interpret and show a way out for the existing gaps in the previous investigation, and in case this happens, identify conflicts between previous studies apparently contradictory, at the same time recommending future investigation lines. This kind of article is submitted to editorial review and academic review by blind pairs, so, the document must not contain the author data.

An extension from three thousand five hundred to seven thousand words including titles and subtitles, summaries, key words and references is required, Times New Roman font at 12 points, line spacing at 1.5, complete justification and titles an subtitles separation with arabic bold numbers. It also must contain the following formal aspects:

  • Title, summary, and key words (with its translation to English).
  • Introduction.
  • Methods.
  • . It must be clearly specified the methods applied for the research and locating of the information and the criteria to decide the articles that are going to be included or not in the revision.

  • Analysis.
  • Conclusions.
  • References (APA 7. a).

Intervention or evaluation

The section gathers empirical works which analyze educational intervention or evaluation experiences which intention is to give solution to a clear identified problematic (implemented activities for the diagnostic of capabilities and problems in the educational field, pedagogical orientation and intervention, educational management and innovation, among others). Contributions are taken which cover all the process of educational intervention or evaluation (design, implementation and results) the actions can be developed in any educational level (from basic education to postgraduate) operated by its different actors (directives, teachers, administrative, etcetera) and grounded in theoretical, pedagogical or multidisciplinary models.

This kind of article is submitted to an editorial revision and academic revision by blind pairs, so, the document must not contain the author’s data.

The contribution must have between three thousand and six thousand words including titles, summaries, key words and references in a Times New Roman font at 12 points, 1.5 line spacing, complete justification and titles and subtitles separation with arabic bold numbers. Also, the structure must be composed by:

  • Title, summary and key words (with its translation to English).
  • Introduction.
  • Actions taken. It must be clearly specified the objective of the intervention or evaluation, the implemented actions and the participants.
  • Results.
  • Analysis.
  • Conclusions.
  • References.



Checklist for the shipping presentation

  • The shipment has’t been previously published or has’t been set to consideration by any other magazine (or an explanation to it hasn’t been provided in the comments to the editor)
  • The shipping file is in OpenOffice format, Microsoft Word, RTF or WordPerfect.
  • The original doesn’t contain any personal data from the author.
  • The text has a line spacing of 1.5; 12 points, Times New Roman of font; italics is used instead of underlining (except on the URL addresses)); and every ilustration, figure and table can be found placed in the metadata.
  • The tables, images, figures and graphics are of own elaboration.
  • Everytime possible, URL addresses are provided for the references.
  • The text sticks to the stylistic requirements and to the APA norms reffered in the Guidelines for the author. Directrices para el autor.

Rates

D´Perspectivas Siglo XXI does not charge any fee for applying or publish a paper in the magazine.

Erratum and retractions

The journal allows the publication of an erratum and, if necessary, the authors will be those responsible for issuing a retraction regarding his manuscript.

Copyright notice

The Works are published under the license of Creative Commons Recognition-NonCommercial-WithoutDerivedWork 4.0 Internacional (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). this way, it can be shared – copy and redistribute, as long as:

  • Recognition: It must adequately recognize the authorship, provide a link to the license and indicate if any change has be done. It can be done in any reasonable way, but not in a way that suggests that it has the support from the licensor or it’s received by its used done
  • No Comercial: No puede utilizar el material para una finalidad comercial.
  • Without Derived Work: If there’s a remixing, transformation or creation from the material, the modified material can not be diffused.
