The development of the person in the practice of Philosophy for children

Abstract

Our objectives are to define what we mean when we talk about philosophy for children. Recognize important elements of philosophy for children that can be applied in the classroom. Explain why the development of the person is an important element to consider in the current education and in which it consists. Finally, we will seek to answer the question, what do we hope children will tend to if we apply the development of the person and how can they do it? The methodology involves a research work in the main philosophy books for children and philosophy jointly, we take up perspectives of authors such as Paul Ricoeur, María Zambrano and Emmanuel Mounier as well as philosophy for children such as Ann Sharp y Rodolfo Rezola, therefore the method it is based on the interpretation, understanding and action that denotes the Gadamerian hermeneutical circle. Finally we can say that although individual and person generally perceive them in an undifferentiated way, there are substantial differences between them. Well, while the first seeks growth from individuality, the second develops in interaction with the world and the community that surrounds it. The birth of the person requires an education, since it does not occur by spontaneous generation, since it is necessary to develop an awareness that generates the ability to act and change the environment. Within the philosophy for children, the formation of the child is sought from the community, the research communities allow the student to participate, listen, propose, speak, in relation to others.
